Deals: the iPhone Air is €200 off, Xiaomi, Poco and Google phones also get price cuts Mobile Gyan

Analysts think that the iPhone Air is not doing as well as Apple may have hoped – this may be why we see it discounted fairly often. And here it is again.

Apple is trying to kickstart a new trend with the iPhone Air – it measures only 5.6mm thick and weighs only 165g and that makes it feel special when you hold it in your hand. It’s a shame that beyond being thin and light, the phone isn’t all that good at anything. It has a 6.5” LTPO OLED display, a single 48MP camera and a small 3,149mAh battery with wired and wireless charging. Right now, it’s €200 off its regular price.

The Apple iPhone 16 is from last year and right now it has a modest €80 discount. It’s neither as thin nor as light as the Air at 7.8mm and 170g – this is despite the iPhone 16 having a much smaller 6.1” display. It does have a larger 3,561mAh battery, though, which gives it more endurance (15:42h vs. 12:44h in our tests).

The iPhone 16e was already the cheapest new iPhone, now it’s even more so with a €120 discount. This one also has a 6.1” display but with a big ol’ notch on it. The chipset is an Apple A18 like in the iPhone 16, though with one less GPU core. You can check out our detailed iPhone 16 vs. 16e comparison for more details.

Next up, we will revisit some deals from last week as the prices have fallen even lower.

The Xiaomi 15T Pro is €140 off, so the 12/512GB model now costs €760 – it was €800 a week ago. It has a big 6.83” 12-bit 144Hz OLED display. It is powered by the Dimensity 9400+ chipset and a 5,500mAh battery (90W wired, 50W wireless charging). The 15T Pro is equipped with a 50MP main camera (1/1.31”) and a 50MP 5x periscope (115mm), plus a 12MP ultra-wide camera (120°) and a 32MP selfie camera.

The Xiaomi 15T is the same price as last week. That still makes it €310 cheaper than its Pro sibling – that’s a lot of cash. You lose performance (the Dimensity 8400 Ultra is no slouch, but it can’t match the 9400+) and charging options – the 5,500mAh battery only supports 67W wired charging. The cameras are less capable too with a 50MP 1/1.55” main, 50MP 2x/46mm tele and 12MP ultra-wide. Here is a more detailed look at how the Xiaomi 15T compares against the 15T Pro.

The Poco F7 Pro was €460 a week ago and it is now down to €400. It’s powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which slots between the Dimensity 8400 and 9400+. It has a 6,000mAh battery with 90W wired-only charging. The 6.67” 1440p+ 12-bit OLED display is smaller but sharper than the 15T display. The Poco has a fairly basic camera – the 50MP main with a 1/1.55” sensor is similar enough to the 15T main camera, but it only has an 8MP ultra-wide to keep it company. There is no tele lens on board.

The Google Pixel 10 was €800, now it has fallen to €730. That’s for the 128GB model, the price of the 256GB variant also dropped but not as much. This is the first vanilla Pixel with a telephoto camera, a 10.8MP 5x/112mm periscope. However, the small 1/2.0” 48MP sensor in the main doesn’t inspire confidence. The first-ever TSMC-made Tensor chip isn’t as good as some hoped either. Still, the falling price makes things look better.

The Xiaomi Redmi 15 is not a Note model, but it is huge with a 6.9” 144Hz IPS LCD with 1080p+ resolution. The phone has an equally huge 7,000mAh battery with 33W charging – and 18W reverse charging! It’s powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 with 8GB of RAM. Yes, the Redmi 15 has a camera, why do you ask? That’s enough said about it, though.

The Poco M7 4G has an eye-catching design, but the 4G modem may be a deal-breaker for some. Still, it’s an even cheaper phone with a 6.9” 144Hz IPS LCD with 1080p+ resolution. And it has the same 7,000mAh battery that is rated at 33W going in and 18W going out. Yes, it has a camera. Jokes aside, both phones have microSD slots but no 3.5mm headphone jacks.
